For almost 3 months of having a passion to practice of martial arts, we did not expect that Paolo has the desire to experience joining a tournament. Here are some of the photos taken during the event.

We Love You

Yesterday, we recognized all grandparents in church. More people have forgotten the importance of their grandparents. We should not forget how important they are because without them our parents will not also exist. Our grandparents has shorter years more to live in this world and sooner they will return to our creator. We must give our best to our grandparents so that they will also feel they are loved.

Thank God for the RAIN

Since yesterday and today, our town has experienced rain once again since El Nino came in our country. Praise God for the answer of our prayers. Without the rain, our land will continue to dry up and will continuously destroyed the farmer’s crops. Early February this year, El Nino had started devastated our country. Summer has not officially started that time yet, but we all had experienced the hottest temperature ever this year which causes us so much problem. Our entire water dam, which our electric power system gets the source of energy, has almost dried up.

Rain please continues to fall down over the land and fill us with enough water to make the dry land more useful to us. If the land will continues dry until July this year, all farmers will truly be hopeless to have a good harvest for living.

General Concept : Cultural / Historical relative to the 80th Anniversary
Celebration of Misamis Oriental as a Separate Province

Pocket Activities :

The night activities have different sub-titles that depict the diversity of people, race and culture in Misamis Oriental. Each night will be described through a brief description of its culture, followed by a cultural dance presentation to set the atmosphere.

The first three (3) nights will be hosted primarily by the three (3) RBO Components in Misamis Oriental with different activities, presentations or competitions. The RIC for Higa-onon Night, the 4H Club for Muslim Night and the P4MP for the Christian/Hispanic Night.

The 4th Night which is entitled as MISAMIS ORIENTAL TODAY, depicts the mainstream culture of Misamisnons at present. In its 80th glorious years as Misamis Oriental, this night is expected to be filled with the festive atmosphere of exultation and celebration.

Cake Decorating Practise

For these past days, mother-in-law and I were busy baking cakes. The other day, I baked chocolate moist and buko pie. This morning, I helped mother-in-law baked chiffon cake with icing and puto cheese. For the first time, all by herself she tried decorating a cake with icing, although the decoration was not perfectly done but at least she tried all her best.

Grand Opening of CITI HARDWARE - Bulua

Tonight, we were invited to the grand opening of Citi Hardware- Bulua branch and many came to attend and see the place. During the event, lots of food was being served, a band entertained the guests and also giving of some prices that made everybody so alive.

Pres. Corazon C. Aquino died at 76 (1933-2009)

People power revolution icon former President Corazon C. Aquino died at the age of 76, (January 25, 1933 – August 1, 2009). While having our lunch just awhile ago, hubby and I were shock upon watching the breaking news about Pres. Aquino’s latest condition, she didn’t make through from the colon cancer she was suffering for a year.

We are thankful for what you have done to the Republic of the Philippines. Thank you and we will pray for you and for your family.

My Commercial Cooking Graduation

It was an unexpected day for me having a graduation program as big as yesterday's. I was thinking of a simple recognition of graduates during the event. As I read the graduation program, the City Mayor and the Vice-Mayor was entrusted to render us the inspirational message, but unfortunately failed to come for some unexpected circumstances. By the absence of the Mayor and the Vice-Mayor, the program cannot be surpassed because some of the government officials ,who avidly supported the said training programs, were there to make it become successful. As a graduate, I never felt tired grasping the government skill training programs, aside from having it free, it can help me become more useful and progressive individual in a community.

Independence Day

Today, Philippines celebrate its 111 year of independence from the colonial rule of Spain for 377 years. A Spanish expedition led by Ferdinand Magellan, a Portuguese explorer, was first landed Philippine archipelago in 1521. Spanish regime ended when the Filipinos revolt last June 12, 1898. The Spanish-American War and the colonial rule of Spain was defeated at the Battle of Manila Bay headed by Gen. Emelio Aguinaldo and later became the first Philippine Republican President.

Do you feel the essence of Independence Day?

First thing in the morning I asked myself, why do people fought for their freedom. Why do people in the streets raising their sentiments on how the present government officials govern the country. Is there really freedom in our country? Why do people fighting and asking for changes? Is it good enough to get distracted by trying to fight a battle? Is that battle worth fighting? Why should we allow ourselves distracted on others offenses? Instead, we need to stay focused on what God wants us to be. He wants us to turn away from those distractions and choosing our battles wisely so we can fulfill the destiny He has prepared for us.

Mindanao Island Fair

More than two weeks now that our country, particularly Mindanao has been shaken by tensions of war against the rebels. Although, the situation has been gradually resolved, still we are hoping for a total peace.

This coming August 27-28, our town is celebrating the Kagay-an Festival or Town’s Fiesta.The City of Golden friendship or Cagayan de Oro City has become the center of its yearly Mindanao Island Fair. In spite of the tensions came to Mindanao Island, some of the Government Sectors in different neighboring towns, has come to celebrate KAHIMUNAN MINDANAO 2008. During the Trade Fair, participants are showing their town’s delicacies, handicraft products and promoting their town’s tourist main attractions. Although, Mindanao has been affected by the terrorist attacks, still we have seen how they made this possible and done organized.

God is working on our behalf

Recently, Philippine government has been facing a chaotic situation against the rebels particularly Mindanao. The government has decided to sign for an agreement to established good relationship with the Muslim Government and to maintain peace and order. But I guess that decision failed both expectations, when the the rebels threatened and killing many innocent people after the Supreme Court ordered for a restraining order of the said agreement for thorough study.

Just this morning, I received a message from my mother-in law informing us that their town has been harassed by the rebels by planting bombs anywhere. Sunday afternoon while they went out, a bomb exploded near the place they went through. Luckily, their town after the incident has been controlled by the military and maintained the peace and order.

We can never tell when or what time thus the terrorists has to make their move to threaten the people. Still it’s very alarming to us especially some of our relatives and friends are living near in the affected towns. The rebels killed many innocent people, taking them as their hostage, burning houses and salvage both military and civilians. We never expect this to happen after the said peace talk has to be done.

In spite of our worries, God is working behind the scenes in our lives, today. No matter what we may be facing, no matter what tragedy we may be going through, God has a plan to turn things around in our favor.

You may not see it in the natural, but look with your eyes of faith today. Keep standing. Keep believing. Keep hoping. Keep following His Word. Focus on His goodness in your life, knowing that He is the God of order and peace. He will never let His people perish and have no hope. Just meditate on His faithfulness and He will show us His love. He will let us experience His peace, joy and will live in victory all the days of our lives.
