A Beautiful Dinner

For the past days hubby and I were busy from work. It is been a while since I prepared something for our dinner. I am thinking of rewarding ourselves from having a stressful week. We watch movies and preparing pasta and salad for dinner. A great movie and seeing my family with a happy smile thanking you for having a great dinner is very rewarding to me. I praise God for my family and for the blessings.

Lambay o Swimmer Crabs

One of my favorite days is Sunday. After going to church, I used to prepare any special dish for lunch. Since it is family day and rest day from work, everyone in the family has nothing to do but to spend time in movies, games or any sports in which every one of us could participate. Sometimes we go out for a beach picnic or going to the mall. This is the day in which we could have an ample time to spend with each other.

This morning I bought some crabs. Lambay or swimmer crabs are the usual crabs we have here in our place. I prepared it with tomato sauce and some chili. A bit of sweetness and hotness makes the viand so delicious. This is another great time for all of us. I love the day. Praise God. Thank you Lord for all the blessings you have given to us for the past week.

Holy Friday

Philippines is celebrating the Holy Week. Everybody loves the long holiday week. There are many people especially the Catholics are observing the VISITA IGLESIA, where many people are coming to many churches to attend mass. Some are spending their holy week to beaches or a vacation travel. Time to relax and enjoy the week without thinking anything about their job.

It is Holy Friday, many are preferring to stay in their house with their family. Most families are preparing TABIRAK or BINIGNIT during this season. Our neighbor and I are now preparing binignit as well. Can wait to taste it. Yum yum yum!!!

Champorado and Dried Fish

As we woke up this morning. Wow! The heavy rain is falling all over the place. We almost have flood outside. We decided to make Champorado (In Spanish "Champurrado"). Champorado is made up with sweet rice chocolate porridge. Champorado is best when there is evaporated milk and combine with dried fish. Serve it hot to warm your cold rainy day. Bon appetit. Hmm.. Yummy!

A Declaration on God's Promises

Another year to say thank you Lord for the celebration of my hubby's natal day. Simple gathering to celebrate the goodness of God in our lives. Another year that had past which we were all glad that altogether we surpassed life's trials and challenges. By God's strength and grace we made it through. Life without God is nothing and empty.

God blessed us abundantly althroughout the year. And by the next years to come we keep on believing that God will do the same and even more. We receive His strength and activate it by declaring that He is at work in our lives by the Holy Spirit! Everyday we must declare that we are filled His with power, strength, justice and wisdom as we face the challenges before us.

This is our declaration!!! And we believe, receive and declare it because Jesus has equipped us to overcome in every area of our lives.

California Maki

California maki is a maki-zushi roll. A kind of sushi roll wrap with rice and some stuffed inside. I like the zushi roll deep in soy sauce with wasabi. My brother like it so much.

KARE-KARE or Philippine Stew is one of the Filipino's favorite dish. The stew is made up with peanut sauce, vegetables and shrimp paste. The meat could be beef, chicken, goat or oxtail. There are different ways on preparing kare-kare but I choose to have it simple.

Machang at Mandarin Restaurant

Another day to have time together with family to go out for fun strolling at the mall during these busy days of holiday season. Many spend time to shop and to buy presents for their love ones . This time we went out to window shop and buy some stuff for Paolo's Christmas party.

After a long day of strolling around the mall, we gave ourselve a nice dinner. I have taken picture of my favorite "Machang". Machang is made up of sticky rice, chicken, pork, egg, dried shrimp and other stuff which I don't know how to discribe. Machang is like Spanish Paella but in Chinese version of preparation.
