Rock The Vote 2009 in Cagayan de Oro

On July 30, 2009, Cagayan de Oro City is going to have a night of free concert event which will be held at Xavier University - Ateneo De Cagayan Gymnasium. Luke Mejares with some popular bands like SpongeCola and Hale is going to rock Cagayan De Oro with some Senators, Mayors and Governors from different areas in Philippines.

Sister's Shopping Experience

Nowadays, people are uncertain about spending money for shopping because of the global financial crises. Most people would prefer shopping in a store that gives huge discounts, if not during the occasional store big sales. My sister has four kids and would never go to shop without enough cash in her wallet. When she had her last baby she found it hard to shop for her baby’s needs, especially when having to bring them all four kids to the store to buy babies and toddlers products. So she found a new way that is easier, affordable and accessible, and without the extra effort to leave the house to shop for them. She managed to buy her stroller, car seat, toys and other stuffs online. Having done so she realized she had spent her money more wisely without going out to shop. She was able to save time and money for shopping something for her baby.

Sharing me this has given the idea about the easier way to buy stuffs for my future baby even without going to stores. One of my top priorities will be to the furniture I need for the nursery room (when the baby comes out). I always wanted my baby to live like a prince or princess inside his/her nursery room.

For a future mother like me, I will always be searching for something beautiful for my babies. I want my baby to live a healthy lifestyle by giving her/him activities set to enhance a baby’s mental and physical growth.

H1N1 - Swine Flu Virus

H1N1 (Swine Flu) virus has become global flu pandemic virus causing illness in people. The World Health Organization (WHO) decided to raise its global alert level from 5 to 6 after confirming the widespread of outbreaks that reaches across several continents. The virus was first detected April 2009 in United States, Mexico and Canada. In 1968, the last global flu pandemic came which killed about 1 million people worldwide was called “Hong Kong” flu.

According to studies that the influenza virus can survive on environmental surfaces and can infect a person for up to 2-8 hours after being deposited on the surface. Germs can be spread when you touch something that is contaminated with germs and then touches your mouth, nose and eyes. Even a sneeze or droplets from a cough of an infected person which moves through air can also infect others.

The virus infects many people in our country and even here in our town the case of pandemic had threaten to many students. Some schools which has H1N1 cases suspended their classes for few days to quarantine the area. This virus affects people seriously and we must take the prevention seriously as well. Taking enough rest, proper hand washing, eating the proper diet, exercise and taking vitamins can be one of the preventive measures of the virus. No one can help you away from the virus; it is you who is responsible on your health.

Independence Day of USA - 4th of July

United States of America is celebrating its Independence Day or also known as The fourth of July. This is an annual holiday in which U.S.A. is commemorating the courage of founding fathers in their pursuit liberty. The declaration of Independence was held at Philadelphia on July 4, 1776. Traditionally, the fourth of July celebrated publicly with parades, patriotic speeches and fireworks displays. But to some people consider this day as a chance for family and friends to gather for barbecues and watching fireworks displays.

Misamis Occidental Aquamarine Park - MOAP

If you are an aquatic lover and happen to travel the Province of Misamis Occidental, a place is truly suiting your interest and that is MOAP. MOAP is an Aquamarine Park and rescue center for marine animals. This ecotourism park has sanctuary for dolphins and other marine animals which is open for public viewing especially tourists. The park has an established clinic with complete medicines ready to treat the marine animals.

MOAP is located at Libertad Bajo, Sinacaban, Misamis Occidental. The place has 60 hectares of coastal areas with mangrove trees, cottages, restaurant and function halls connected by wooden bridge.
