Have you ever seen a water well in an urban areas? Probably not! It might have some but not for drinking water. I had been raised in a rural place before for more than 10 years and later transfered in the city. It was 20 years had passed at my birth place which I used to see many people owned a well for drinking and other stuff. Even my own family owned one before. We used it for watering our plants and washing clothes but not our source of drinking water.

Early this year, I had the chance to visit my old place. Wow! More houses and more subdivisions were being constructed. One thing I had noticed was that I never seen water well anywhere I go. Not seen even a single well during my 3 days of stayed in the place. I am just wondering why people doesn't like to use it until now. Does it dries up or filling it up in purpose?

I have here some photos taken at the place of my Aunt during our visit in her place. This is the only town which I had the chance to see a well during a visit. We could hardly seen such a well like this anywhere. I am glad to find one.

Last weekend, we went to visit the place of my grandmother and some relatives in a province. I am glad to be reunited with them for a long time. The place of my grandmother was celebrating their annual fiesta. What a timing of our visit! We went there not just to celebrate with them but to meet them as well. I used to go there with my other siblings during our summer vacation way back on our younger years.

I am amazed that the place wasn't bad as I thought. One thing that I could still remember is that the place is still well-known of its nice deep well. It serves as their source of water before. One of my Aunties has a deep well at the side of her house. It serves as their source of water for washing clothes, watering their plants and for their drinking water. Nowadays, you could hardly see deep well anywhere because most people are using the conventional water system provided by the government as the source of household water. A deep well needs a continuous flowing water to maintain the water supply in a well. Most deep well are treated for potable water in a community. I have here some of the photos taken.

Lately, I used to work almost 7 days in a week. I've been busy for the project of my client which he entrusted to me. And by that, I had never got the chance on preparing food for my family. During my last years in college, life was so hectic preparing for projects, thesis and examinations. Being able to spend in five years to college, it gives me lesser subjects in my last remaining year. After finishing college, my father had decided to bring me to his province and meet my half brother.

In my father’s province, my brother gave me a car as a present for my graduation. He then let me took a driving lesson but I only got it for a day. I must say that I am a fast learner for it took me just hours to masters the whole driving theory. There were many things to remember but the whole driving lessons was too easy for me but I must need the constant practice on the actual driving itself.

My personal driving tutor teaches me all the possible driving routines and techniques but of course mistakes sometimes occur on to first-timers. There was one instance when I was about to turn right, the car side swept the electric post and it scratches some part of the car. And the other one was in our garage; I never realized that I was moving too fast that resulting me to bump into my brother’s personal car. My brother ‘s first reaction about what happen was mad but then he still managed to talk to me that I am lucky enough for not hurting myself and next time I must put some extra careful when driving a car.

My brother is a busy person, a successful businessman and a good person as well. He took me to his friend to buy me new a car but I insisted not to have new one. Some people would just say that life is like a wheel that sometimes it spins you on top and sometimes on below . Life is never be the same. It spins on the way that God wanted you to have. These days, there are a lot of courses which the youngsters can choose from. But for the past few years, nursing students were dominant in every universities and colleges in the Philippines. Every time you enter a university, you will only see three types of clothing the students use: it is either PE uniforms; casual clothes, or; nursing uniforms and scrubs.

This summer, I accompanied my nephew to enroll to a university. There are a lot of smiling students and parents who are excited to their child’s new chapter of life. I also saw medical students who went to get their new uniforms from various medical uniform stores in the city. I am happy that today’s generation is still eager to improve the world we live in today. There are still a lot of students who are eager to help their family and the society we live in.

But my attention was caught by those medical students. One of our neighbors really loves taking care of his garden. Last year, he retired from his work and since then; he spends most of his time at home. Mr. Cruz used to have a busy lifestyle. He used to have a life with many things done in a day but since he retired from his job, he thinks that he must continue being active and fruitful. He should have done something in a way to make himself more useful at home.

Mr. Cruz likes taking care of plants and flowers before but since most of his time at home, he spend most of it for making new garden and landscape for his different varieties of plants, flowers and orchids. I could never imagine living in a house full of flowers and plants that gives beauty and colors into your eyes. Beautiful flowers and plants really give beauty in a simple house especially when placing it in nice outdoor planters.

Mr. Cruz never let inside his house empty with his plants and flowers. He thought of bringing some of his best is like bringing good vibes inside his house as well. My parents and other homeowners nearby gave him different sets of indoor planter and outdoor planter as their Christmas present to Mr. Cruz. Last year, the homeowners association awarded Mr. Cruz for having the most attractive house in our neighborhood.

Mr. Cruz is one of a kind person. Never think of himself useless, instead he makes himself busy and useful to become more fruitful for this new year. A person could be fruitful in some ways when choosing life to become one.

One of the most in demand courses here in the Philippines nowadays is nursing. There are lots of people I have known who have taken nursing and who dreamed to have the best for living after graduation. Most of them are taking their studies too serious for they know how expensive this course is. It is really my dream to become a nurse before but because of our financial instability my parents cannot afford to send me to school taking up nursing. So then I decided to shift for another course which has leaser in expenses.

I really like to see nurses wearing in white uniforms for they represent themselves neat, clean and pure. I have been to hospital this recent month and I felt a bit happy to see nurses who have taking care of me at their complete uniforms, nursing scrubs and scrubs clothing. I was too weak when hubby confined me to the hospital that time but when I saw nurses who greeted and smiled, the whole thing they did helped paved the pain I suffered.

This second semester some of my friends celebrated their graduation. There are some of them would prefer to take the nursing board exam the soonest possible but some would prefer to have nursing review before taking the board. Nursing course is not just those snappy scrubs clothing and neat uniform but it also requires brain in order to pass.

The last cities hosted the competition was done the competition successfully in Manila, Davao and the last city they will visit is Cebu City which will be held on November 27, 2010 at Ayala Terraces.

This sandcastle competition is a great opportunity for locals of The City of Friendship to show off their talents in different sand-sculpt at their most impressive creations. Summer season is over, yet building sandcastles anywhere and out of season is fun. The SANUK Sandcastle Building Competition is open to all.

Now, here in the Philippines we are almost at the mid year of school 2010-2011 and the children are starting to feel hardships from their lessons. The other day our neighbor Kenneth came to me for a help on his Math lesson. After school, he used to come to see me for his regular tutoring and he sometimes used the Math problem solver of my brother. I served as Kenneth’s tutor especially that both of his parents are working and busy at their business.

Kenneth’s family is very close to us and his parents are like our relatives too. His parents bought him a Math homework help but he would rather answer his assignments with me in our house. I tried the best I could to teach him and my brother Paolo for this school year. Both of them are aspiring for an academic excellent award. My hubby is helping me also by doing some research for my practice test questioners for them. Teaching kids needs time, patience, love and understanding. This is one reason why I did not take up education because I am lack of patience on teaching children. Have you tried having problems about your lesson during college years? College years are more difficult than high school. A lifetime career needs a wise decision. Now that I am working, I really miss my life during college days. I miss my life when I get pressured studying for exams or doing some projects, assignments and research.

My life at College was not that very satisfactory. If I may be able to go back those old college days, I will make sure to balance everything to make it more enjoyable, pleasant and finer. But there are some events in my life during college that I wish things have done better. One of it was my algebra subject. I really hate numbers especially doing some problem solving.

Math questions and finding prime numbers are the most problem to my part. Those are one that gives me so many headaches that results my laziness in studies. There are things in college that I truly miss a lot, my classmates, friends and best friends. Having great times with friends and even being there with you during hardships left us great memories.

One of my best friends in College was a Mathematician and so he extended his knowledge to us. I took up Biology to get rid Mathematics on my subjects, so I was a bit lucky that I don’t need his Chemistry help and Physics help, unlike with some of my friends did. My college life is not that good enough. I bet it would be better if I have been in a good school during my high school years. Good foundation of school is really important in learning.

Do you have something favorite in which you are fond of collecting with?
This is one of my obsessions now but I make sure not to spend much on it. Since I was 8 years old, I started collecting small antiques, hats, shoes, bags and lately I am collecting gold spot coins. My interest of collecting coins started when my grandmother handed me her antique price of gold coin. I never expect that my grandmother was also a collector of something that I also collected.

When my grandmother handed me her collections, I really appreciate on how she had managed on preserving and keeping those little valuables even though she was too old. She chooses me to have her spot gold coins because she has seen me how I treasured and valued my collections. I am the youngest and grandmother’s girl among the siblings.

My other older sister is also a collector of things made up of gold. When she buys something, she will make sure that everything is made up of gold. Her bags, shoes, belts, hair pins and other accessories must have at least spot of gold o it. When my sister celebrates her 18th birthday, grandmother gave her some of her gold collections of accessories. Since then she never stop collecting things which are made up of gold. Thanks to our grandmother for entrusting us her valuable collections.

Some of our family friends were forced to sell their properties in order to survive financially. It was never been a good year to business world but even though this was actually visible everyone, still people find ways to get this through. Students also have been affected by the crisis because of their parents’ financial instability status and even some have been laid off from work. This is one thing that our government should give their full attention with to come up with a better solution the soonest as possible.

Everyone really took the situation seriously and never tried to waste any of their money. Even some of the medical practitioners were also been affected by this crisis. An Early Plan for Family Trip

I could never imagine how my cousin handles herself as she been so busy working but good to hear that she is planning to take her long vacation trip with family this year. It is summer once again and as flight attendant, she never had the chance to take a vacation during this peak season. She will take her one month vacation by November and this time she planned to have it in a new place with family at the beach. As early as now, she is searching for a nice and unique destination for the trip. Sometimes during her long day off she usually traveled to Hawaii or California to visit her friends and relatives.

She deserves a good and nice long break. Last week, she told me that she finally found the right place for their planned vacation. He tries to sleep early but later he told me that he could hardly sleep because of too much excitement. This is very common to students who like what they are doing. Going to school is not a burden or just a mare routine activity but has to do more than material things that a person possesses. Education is the only thing that no one could take out from you. This is the very important treasure that most parents could hand down to their children.

My brother Paolo has been addicted to online computer games for more than 2 years. And this year’s grading period, he got the lowest grades ever for his entire life in school. My parents were very disappointed on his performance because all of his major subjects like Math, Science, English and Civics have just got the lowest grades ever. Due to the successive of playing computer games, he never realized that he misses some of his important priorities on his life-like his studies. He even forgot to ask any help from us regarding his academic problems.

Just recently, my mom decided to hire someone who could tutor him and help him give the Math answers for his math related problems. He really needs somebody who could help him coup up with the lessons he misses for the past months. Mother tries to help and give the best in order for him to pass the subjects to continue college. Giving the best precalculus help is what mother thinks he might also need during this period.

My nephew, who is in college, had the same problem with my brother also. He just recently found out that he has started to become addicted with computer games. Mother told him to set his priorities first. Mother then recommends Jez to find someone who could help him on his academic concerns especially the College algebra problems. I am sure that he will be needing calculus help on his third year in college.

There are many things in which most students are having a hard time dealing with. There are possible obstacles in which they must overcome. The only thing that differs here is that how the person deals with the obstacles and setting the priorities in life in order to achieve the success of their desires.

Computer Games Addiction

Nowadays, playing online games, computer games, play station, PSP and etc. are becoming the most favorite hobby to most children in today’s generation. I have seen the bad effects of these games to kids and even to teenagers when they got addicted to pc games. The bad influence of these games sometimes leads them to stop studying and some got the lowest grades to all their subjects. Kids nowadays would prefer to play pc games rather than sports.

My younger brother is one of those kids who are addicted to games. For how many years he was never get rid the bad habit on giving more time playing rather than studying. This year, we let him choose for what he should see the best for him. And he said, he rather chooses studying and sports.

On my opinion, playing pc games are not bad. The only thing that makes it bad is that, when a person plays too much and forgets what the priorities in their lives are, this makes a person becomes stagnant and not progressive in life.

School days are fast approaching. I can now smell the fragrance of the ink of my pen on the notebook. I am having a vacation hang-over since I had a great summer experience this year. It just that great experience happens in unexpected situations. Our house had been ransacked while we are on our way to the beach. Lockers are supposedly to tighten the security of our house but that did not just worked. Worst than ever they jammed especially the wood lockers, forcing us to break our cabinets to see if some of our jewelries were saved. Fortunately, some of the jewelries where is there. It was just funny because they did not manage to unlock the wood lockers forcing them to just jam it off. Those thieves are unconscious that there are lockers for sale that are as durable as we have. Good thing they didn’t took much from our house.

Going back to the school thing, I am now more vigilant to thieves; first part of my preparation is to secure a school locker. This would be one step of keeping my things safe while busy on academic field. Since I still have a Physical Education subject, I also secured my own trusted gym locker to assure that the locker will not be as lousy as security would be. Even in my car I produce a specially made alarm expecting that the feeling of being robbed will not happen to me in jeopardy. My best part of duty will be on guard while I am in school this school year. It will be one busy, vigilant year.

A Friend in Middle East

My best friend Marlou is working and living in Middle East for 10 years now. He is currently working as the head chef of a hotel for about 4 years already. As part of his physical fitness routine, he is also practicing martial arts after work and aimed to reach the highest level of degree as well. Just recently,we were chatting through some social media sites like Facebook because we haven’t seen each other for quite sometime. We used to hang out during our college days and together we practice taekwondo with some of our best friends during our free hours.

As part of conversation, we reminisce all the funny stuffs we all have been with during college years. He also shared some of the places he has been through during his stay in Middle East. Out of our conversation, I couldn’t imagine how really beautiful Dubai is. There are rumors he mentioned to me about the New Hotel Dubai, which will truly add beauty to Dubai. Wow! It is really my dream to see the place personally. I love to see in person what makes the place so special.

My best friend Marlou is planning to go back home soon and have his own business here in our country. He works hard and saves money for his future plan to have his own family and kids. One thing he told me that catches me to think of, “You should work hard to make your future baby has the brighter and better future in which you desire him/her to have”.

He never misses any news to mention every time we had the chance of conversation. Even about his niece who is currently on the 6th grade now and same as with the other kids in our community who is also been addicted to computer games. Sheryl is one of his favorite nieces, who is soon celebrating her birthday. Marlou is planning to buy her a special gift on her upcoming birthday. One of Sheryl’s favorite game is monkey defense. Just like the other computer games she also enjoys playing it. One thing that is nice about Sheryl, she knows how to set her priorities aside from playing games, she also spend time doing her home works from school.

My Uncle’s private Golf Course

Are you fond of playing or watching outdoor sports? What particular sports you are in up to? Most people are fond of these popular ball sports like basketball, baseball, football, soccer, tennis, golf and etc. A person who used to get involved to any physical sports will never get tired when they get old. Living with a healthy and active lifestyle is very important factor to maintain a good and healthy body.

My uncle is much known of his achievements being a good man and popular lawyer in our town. He is a busy lawyer and usually spent most of his time in the office dealing and resolving legal problems of his clients. He never thought of being a busy man has a less of time to relax, time for his family and even time to exercise. On the peak of his career, he realized that the lifestyle he has been through was unhealthy. He needs to change and balance the wheel of life before it is too late.

My Uncle’s family owned a small private golf course with a little playground. Just recently he asked his colleagues to set time to play with him after work. He makes sure to have at least time to relax while doing a little of exercise. Playing golf is a way he thinks the best for him.

Tiger Woods is one of his favorite players in Golf and some how inspires him to play. My Uncle’s eldest son is very fond of gold and he used to play with him everyday. As a way of saying thanks to his father, my cousin wanted to surprise father on his birthday. He wanted his dad’s friends be there to celebrate and do some golf tournament for fun. As a preparation, he then decorates the golf course by putting some golf course signs that could add beauty to the site. Golf course signage is not just making the place beautiful but a great help to players who are not familiar with the game yet.

My cousin Bimbo got the idea of putting some golf course sign at their private golf course after watching the match in PGA tour where Tiger Woods played. Making a simple thing makes his father becomes happy on his birthday party.

My Sister's 9th year of Wedding Anniversary

Today, we are very happy for my sister and her hubby as they reach 9th year of their marriage. As part of their thanksgiving, the whole family went out for a dinner and together we celebrate their happiness.

A simple dinner is a simple gratitude that they could share for us on this special day. Thank God for the love that binds them on their marriage and gave them 2 handsome kids.

My cousin is a hard working employee of American Airline for more than 7 years now as a flight stewardess. She doesn’t have vacation during holidays even during Christmas Season or Summer Season. During those seasons, the more she becomes busy for more flight schedules were given to her. Every time she is on call for a flight schedule; the company provided her a hotel for the night to stay in with at the destination place.

Being a flight stewardess, she is really a busy career woman. What makes her really interested on choosing this kind of career is that, she has the opportunity to travel anywhere around the globe. Aside from the high salary rate received; she also had given with many good benefits. Every end of the busy season, their company gave them time to relax and have their long day off.

Last week, my cousin called up and set a night out to with her to watch for a concert this August because she was given by her co-worker extra tickets for 1st Mariner Arena tickets, Merriweather Post Pavilion tickets and Comerica Park tickets. She will celebrate her birthday next week and as part of her birthday she was given tickets as present by her best-friend.

After or before the peak travel season, my cousin and co-workers are usually schedule to hanged-out together to unwind. This time they choose to watch for the Black Eyed Peas concert on the 10th of August, 2010 for the 1st Mariner arena tickets they all have. And for the Merriweaather Post Pavilion tickets and Comerica Park tickets, they were still undecided what to watch for depending on their schedules.

My cousin has the best career ever should most woman is dreaming of. Even I myself would like to become part of the airplane crew because of the good benefits, well-paid and traveling opportunity. For me traveling is an opportunity to see how wonderful the world is. This is really what makes beautiful on working an international Airline Company.

Banana Beach Resort

It is summer once again and for the second time, we decided to spend few days at my sister’s place in Tagum City, Davao del Norte. Another place outside our usual comfort zone is what we think the best for us this time for summer season. Hubby and I are fond of adventures, beaches, food and travel. The usual thing we do when we travel is that, we tried to explore the food, natural places, beaches and some other things in which we find interesting to explore with.

During our stay here in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, my brother-in-law Omar Jon Correos brought us to some places nearby to enjoy sightseeing and to try some of the place’s deli. We also visited the only beach resort inside the BANANA plantation found only in Tagum City, Davao del Norte and that is the BANANA BEACH RESORT - the former Barret Beach Resort of Hijo Resources. This is actually our second time to visit the resort; and this time there are lots of changes were added to make the resort nice to stay in with.
